Linley Valley Pork
I purchased 2 x Linley Valley Leg Roasts recently. After cooking the meat, all our family members can pick up the boar taint after putting it in our mouth! I made a complaint to Linley Valley and spoken with Joslyn about the boar taint. Joslyn does know what a boar taint is but most people don't. She advised me to get a full refund from the store I purchased it from and they will start an investigation to track down the supplier. If you don’t know what a boar taint is, ask Google or an Italian butcher or an Asian butcher. If you grew up in Australia and ate tainted pork throughout your whole life, you probably won’t know what boar taint smells like. But most Italians and Asians who had eaten pork outside Australia can easily pick the offensive smell, they will be able to tell once they put the meat in their mouth. If the boar taint is really strong, you can even smell it while cooking it. I've tried adding ginger and spices to camouflage the taint but my attempts were useless. In the past, I've thrown out the meat many times after detecting the boar taint and this has wasted a lot of my money and time for cooking them and they end up being disgusting and inedible. According to my research 90% female and 50% male can pick up the boar taint. I won’t hesitate to get a refund if I bought tainted pork from a supermarket or a butcher. I won't be wasting my money on tainted pork anymore. The supplier should get notified and take action when a customer returns the meat back to them for a refund. My family is now very wary of eating Australian Pork, but we had no problem eating pork when we holiday in Italy or Asia. We once went to the UK, and can also pick up the boar taint in some restaurants/pubs. We complained to the restaurant manager and got our dish replaced with something else like seafood, beef, lamb...etc but refrain from pork. The suppliers and restaurants need to be educated on what a boar taint is and shouldn't be supplying tainted meat to consumers.

Animal abuse and it's finest. You wouldn't believe the condition these animals are kept in.
